Word of mouth and referrals are at the heart of our new business strategy. We know that people who know people are our best route to market. In fact, 100% of our billed business to date has been generated in some way through word of mouth.
If someone has gone to the trouble of pointing a business in our direction, and that subsequently turns into paying work for Clear Thought, it's only polite for us to show our appreciation.
We work with small businesses, to equip them with the marketing strategies, skills, set-up and suppliers that they need to become bigger businesses. We do this through:
- One-off strategic consultancy projects.
- Intensive marketing transformation programmes.
- Out-sourced marketing department set-up.
A perfect client for us looks something like this:
- Upwards of 20 employees
- Upwards of £3m turnover
- Based in the South West or M4 corridor
- An offering that has a complex or considered buying process (this usually means that it is a high value, high risk or high status/importance purchase)

To refer someone to us, please:
- Call us on 0117 325 77 25 or email us at referral@clear-thought.co.uk with the details.
- We check them out and if we're interested, you put us in touch with the organisation by an email introduction or by arranging a meeting for us.
- You will receive a dated email back from us confirming receipt of the referral and the date on which, and terms by which, any referral fee would be determined.
- We'll drop you a line on that date to inform you of monies owed to you.
- You invoice us, and we'll pay you within 30 days.
The small print:
We can't go giving out cash willy nilly, so we do have a few rules:
- Fees will only be paid to people who have registered their referral for the scheme and received a confirmation email from us to that effect.
- Fees are paid at six months from date of receipt of initial referral, and fee levels are based on invoices paid by the client at review date.
- The organisation must be previously unknown to anyone on the Clear Thought team.
- The fee relates to an organisation, not to an individual - so if you put us in touch with a person who then moves to another company that subsequently engages Clear Thought the referral fee will not apply.
- Fees will only be paid if Clear Thought is in profit at review date.
- One fee is payable per client engagement, if we're lucky enough to have a number of people refer us the same lead, the fee will be split between people who referred to us within one week of the first referral instance.
- There's no limit on the number of fees we'll pay out to an individual... keep referring and we'll keep paying.
- Referral fees are inclusive of VAT.
- One-off fees only, no monthly commission alternatives available.
- Clear Thought reserves the right to amend this policy at any time.
- Referrals registered with us will be honoured according to the details published on our website on the date of receipt of the initial referral, these terms will be provided in our confirmation of receipt.
